Description
John Mellencamp closed out the 1980s and an era with the more folk-inspired and reflective Big Daddy, his last record credited to John Cougar Mellencamp with the Cougar being dropped hereafter. The platinum-certified 1989 effort peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and yielded the two Mainstream Rock Top 10s Pop Singer and Martha Say. Mellencamp himself stated in 1991 that, Big Daddy was the best record I ever made. Out of my agony came a couple of really beautiful songs. You cant be 22 years old and had two dates and understand that album.
