Description
They were the band that could or should have been as big as Joy Division. The Distractions came from the same town and shared the same label Factory Records. And by the end of 1979, The Distractions were heralded as one of the most exciting bands in Britain, paving the way for The Smiths and others with their jangly Manchester guitar sound and poppy, intelligent, introspective song writing.
The Distractions are unaffectedly original there are layers within layers in their songs, enthused NMEs Paul Morley at the time. Now, just over 40 years since he signed them from Factory Records to Island, A&R legend Nick Stewart (who famously signed U2) will reissue The Distractions acclaimed debut, Nobodys Perfect on his own Man In The Moon Records label.
