Another Taste return with their eagerly anticipated follow-up album, Another Taste II — eight new cuts of boogie, funk and obscure disco-influenced productions, recorded live to tape on Space Grapes and presented on 12 inch vinyl LP with a download code included. If their acclaimed 2024 debut was an introduction to their musical range, Another Taste II is the full immersion — a neon-lit, groove-set album that expands their palette with sharper songwriting, denser arrangements and a fictional universe all of their own.

The Amsterdam collective is at full strength here: Barend Lippens, Bobby van Putten, Bob Roche, Teun van Zoggel, Sarina Voorn, Diogo Carvalho and Florian Verhagen summon a sound that is electrifying, communal and unmistakably theirs. Rhythm guitar, bass and drums lock in with precision while a dedicated brass section adds short, punchy lines, and supporting group vocals and call-and-response passages lend an authentic, deeply soulful edge. Special guests Arp Frique and the Perpetual Singers join on the standout ‘Peace Call’, adding yet another layer of communal, transcendent energy to an already rich album.

Highlights include the high-speed disco colour of ‘Blue Feather Movement’, the tangled and jangling funk-infused energy of ‘Run Into Love’, and the lush, mellow magic of ‘Never Down’. Opener ‘Party Lights’ sets the tone immediately while ‘Into The Night’ brings the album to a perfect close. Engineered and mixed by Bobby van Putten, mastered and cut by Frank Merritt at The Carvery, with artwork by Walt van der Veen and design by Timo ter Braak and Robert Reinartz — every element of this release has been crafted with care.
