Description
The next chapter of the Carl Barat story is the debut album from the Dirty Pretty Things formed from the ashes of the Libertines. If the gin palace swagger of the libertines debut remains in place musically, Waterloo to Anywheres closest cousin poetic seduction has given way to a bullish resolve. Carl has already gone on record as saying he wants Dirty Pretty Things to be more gritty and less romanticised than his former band, and this album rocks viciously from start to finish. You Fucking Love It is a brutal Buzzcocks-with-toothache thrash whilst If You love a Woman is the sound of the Kings of Leon strapped into the dentists chair and Gin and Milk is probably one of the most poppy things Barat has put his name to and its liberal use of the f word will see it go down a storm. The LP comes with a free 7 featuring an acoustic version of Bang Bang Youre Dead and the song B.U.R.M.A.
