With Beasts, Jurriaans has succeeded in crafting a singular, personal record that is wholly his own. Thats what makes the album title an apt one. Putting out music this intimate is scary, he says. Its a beast. The whole album is a beast and each song is a beast.

Saunder Jurriaans is a contemporary film composer writing alongside Danny Bensi in New York. They first started playing music together when they formed the unique instrumental rock band Priestbird in 2001. They recorded 4 acclaimed albums and were invited to tour internationally with many reputable bands including Pearl Jam. In 2010, they were approached to write their first feature movie score Two Gates of Sleep which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Soon after, they were asked to score the critically acclaimed feature Martha Marcy May Marlene and Denis Villenueves Enemy winning Best Musical Score at the Canadian Screen Awards.
