Fire On The Bayou is a staple of New Orleans funk. Originally released in 1975, the album was released the same year that The Rolling Stones had invited The Meters to open for them on their Tour of the Americas. With the albums hit eponymous track along with other classics like Mardi Gras Mambo and They All Askd for You, Fire On The Bayou is a fantastic blend of the blues, dance and funk grooves that continues to define the New Orleans music scene and is one of the many examples of why The Meters are considered New Orleans royalty.
To celebrate Black Music Month and honour the albums 50th anniversary, this album has been cut from the original tapes by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering and is pressed locally on 180-gram premium-quality vinyl at Fidelity Record Pressings brand new plant in Oxnard, California as part of the new Rhino Reserve line.
