Originally released in 1962 on the Riverside label, Interplay features piano giant Bill Evans at his gently swinging best. The band is beyond stellar; Percy Heath and Philly Joe Jones complete the rhythm section, while Jim Halls guitar and Freddie Hubbards trumpet round out the sessions. This set is a bit of a departure from his usual trio recordings of the time, but the results are no less fantastic. A classic LP from arguably the greatest jazz pianist of all time, reissued with the original liner notes on 180 gram vinyl.
