August 2018s Dissolution saw the band reach #1 in the UK Rock & Metal chart, #36 in the UK album chart, #22 in Germany, #4 in Platomania Netherlands and #14 in Finlands physical chart, and took them on two headline European tours including their biggest ever booking at Londons Shepherds Bush Empire. Your Wilderness, released in Summer 2016, achieved something of a breakthrough for the band before Dissolution, producing 4m+ album streams, a #7 in the UK Independent Charts and two extensive headline European tours culminating at Londons Islington Assembly Hall where the concert was recorded for the live release Where We Stood.

Little Man was the album that caught the attention of Steven Wilson and newly forming UK label Kscope, who later signed The Pineapple Thief to release their next album, Tightly Unwound. The music for Little Man is marked by the icy, dark atmosphere created by a combination of keyboards, vibrato guitars, violin, Keith Harrisons percussion and lyrics covering themes of loss. The album also features the fan-favourite and current live track Snowdrops. Having recently toured North America for the first-time last year, The Pineapple Thief are currently in the studio working on the follow up to their 2018 record Dissolution.
