This is the first of six studio albums in Reddings legendary career, cut short by his death in a plane crash on Dec. 10, 1967. There are five Redding originals here, the timeless These Arms Of Mine Reddings first to hit the charts, Hey Hey Baby is an influenced tribute to Little Richard, and also Security, Thats What My Heart Needs, and Something Is Worrying Me. Notable covers include Ben E Kings Stand By Me, Sam Cookes You Send Me, The Kingsmens Louie Louie, and Little Richards Lucille.
The tight backing band, featuring Booker T. & the M.G.s and the Memphis Horns, provides a gritty, groove-laden foundation that makes every track sizzle.
